A hand-colored lithograph of a port-broadside view of the clipper ship 'Racer' sailing with three sails furled in rough seas. The ship is flying an American flag on its stern and a flag with a red cross on a white background, identifying her as part of the St. George Line. She was built specifically for the trade route between New York and Liverpool, but later in her career, she was also involved in freight and passenger transport to Australia.
