The masthead of the main royal mast of the French first-rate ship of the line, 'Orient.' The French fleet flagship was destroyed in an explosion at the Battle of the Nile 1 August 1798 during the French Revolutionary Wars. The section of the wooden mast with metal attachments is against an olive green background. The signature of the artist is printed on the image.
