The Empire of Troy passanger steamboat was the largest vessel of her type to be constructed in 1843. It was built for the Troy-New York Steamboat Company as a day boat. The Empire is depicted with dressed-up passengers onboard socializing on its deck while it passes a scenic mountain view.
