Uncolored engraving depicting a prison ship, three-quarters bow view, with a crowded boat drawing up to it on the left. A smaller boat near the first has a stern emblazoned with the words "YORK. Portsmouth." The prision ship herself is tall and stout, with two masts and cabins built over the entirety of the deck, complete with chimneys; lines of washing hand from the rigging and are strung between the cabin windows. The ship has an elaborate figurehead with a bust of a man, suggesting that at one point in her history she served a more exalted purpose. Title, artist attribution, and subtitle printed in lower margin. Subtitle reads, "CONVICTs going on board." The final "s" is uncapitalized on the object.
