Black, white, and grey drawing of a whale with the head of Prince Bismark in the sea, spouting. The foam on the waves has been illustrated by means of scraping away the surface of the paper. On the spout is written, "HAMBURGER NACHRICHTEN". The image is signed in the lower right corner, "Lindley Sambourne, July 18th, 1892."
On the verso is pasted a clipping with the following text,
"51 'THERE HE BLOWS!' (The German Emperor has gone Whaling in the North Seas)
'There he Blows! There he goes!' like a Titan in throes,
With his Walloping Tail, and his Wave-churning Nose,
The Spouting Cetacean Colossus!
H? Harpoon that Monster! the thought makes one pale,
With one thundering thwack of that thumping Big Tail,
To the Skies in small splinters he'd toss us ! etc. etc.
July 23, 1892."
