A port-broadside view of the schooner yacht 'Madcap' winning the Port of Plymouth Royal Regatta with the yachts 'Albertine' and 'Galatea' competing for second place in the distance on the right side of the print. A lighthouse is visible on shore in the distance. On August 25, 1864, the Prince of Wales hosted a race for schooners above 20 tons belonging to any Royal Yacht Club where the prize was a cup valued 100 guineas. The 'Madcap' won the Royal prize having completed the race in 6 hours, 10 minutes, and 20 seconds. Second place was the 'Albertine' at 6 hours, 24 minutes, and 36 seconds. Third place was 'Galatea' at 6 hours, 35 minutes, and 50 seconds.
