The print depicts the Spanish Captain Luis de C�_rdova's capture of a fleet of merchant vessels and frigates at Santa Maria Island in the Azores. C�_rdova was celebrated as the hero of the day for this defeat of the English Navy. Numerous ships flying the Spanish flag and a combination of the British and Spanish flag sail in the water.
