Deteriorated sepia photograph of the yacht 'Alice' at Cowes in 1886 after completing a record transatlantic journey in 19 days, 6 hours, and 20 minutes commanded by Captain Arthur H. Clark. She was the first and smallest American yacht to sail from America directly to England. Crewmembers sit at the edge of the hull dangling their legs above the water. Her sails are all furled and neatly stowed.
