This map of the Holy Land was first published by Jansson in 1652, in his "Accuratissima orbis antiqui delineatio." From 1653 on, this work is known under the name of Hornius, who wrote the text to the atlas. The landscape is dotted with figurative symbols that indicate places of battles, cities, other important landmarks. The tribes of Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasse are indicated on the land as well. In the lower portion of the map, in the Mediterranean Sea, is a large scene of Jonah being overthrown off the boat where a sea monster (whale) awaits. Another sea monster is to the right of the scene.
