A photo-process reproduction of the packet ship 'Natchez' off Cape Horn in turbulent waters. The ship was notable for being commanded by Captain Robert H. Waterman, who took her around Cape Horn to the west coast of South America then across the Pacific to Canton, exporting tea to New York. She was also known for making remarkably fast voyages; she travelled from Canton to New York in 94 days.
