Photograph of the USS 'Kearsarge' anchored in the Boston Navy Yard (formerly, Charlestown Navy Yard) in 1864. She was built under the American Civil War emergency shipbuilding program. She is most famous for defeating the Confederate raider CSS 'Alabama' in 1864.
