A view of American naval ships meeting off the shore of the Island of Lobos in preparation to sail for the harbor of Vera Cruz, where American soldiers would serve in a two-week capture of the vitally important Mexican port of Veracruz. The large ships in the water are labeled below the image: four are transport ships with troops and the ship on the most right side of the print is identified as the 'St. Marys.'
