A copperplate engraving from the book titled, 'Plan de plusieurs b̢timens de mer avec leurs proportions dedi̩ Son Altesse Serenissime Monseigneur Louis Auguste de Bourbon' (Marseille: c. 1720) by the French Captain Henri Sbonski de Passebon. The book was a collection of naval architecture prints. This print depicts a port side ship portrait of a tartana or tartane vessel, which was a one-masted sailing vessel with a lateen mainsail and a jib or triangular staysail and was common in the Mediterranean.

The tartana depicted here is a fishing boat, indicated by the net that hangs on its broadside. Fishermen in the foreground pull their nets ashore with baskets ready to store the caught fish. An elaborately decorated stern is visible on the left side of the print. On the horizon, a brilliant sun peaks out from behind a mountain or rock formation and its rays pierce the sky and clouds.
