A map of Spain from the Latin, 1570 edition of Theatrum Orbis Terrarum (Theater of the World) by Abraham Ortelius and published in Antwerp in a 100 copy print run. Four versions were printed in the 1570 Latin edition; this map is from the second version of the edition published that year. In the word "Locupletissima", the letter E and the T have been printed in a single letter and the letter I, smaller in size, has been inserted between the E and the S. The names of places are in Latin and Spanish. In the lower right corner is the title in an architectural strapwork cartouche. In the lower left corner is a scale crowned by a compass. In the sea, which is represented with fine dots, there are sailing vessels of the time and sea monsters.

On the verso begins the chapter on Hispania in Latin text (7r). The last line, centered, is transcribed: "itineraria,in quibus etiam distantias locurum annotauit."
