A map of Germany from taken from an unidentified atlas. The map depicts Germany from Abbeville to Ameland and the North Sea to Trier. In the upper right is a cartouche with title; bottom right cartouche with the scale; left center cartouche with number of towns and villages per province. The map is mounted onto a sheet of blank laid paper obscuring the text at the back. On verso: "Briefve description de la caerte du pays bas."

Full inscription of title cartouche: "Nova Gemaniae inferioris Descriptio, delineate P. Bertio, sculpente Nicolae Geilkerckio De Belgis ita Caesar Gallorum omnium fortissimi sunt Belgae, proptera quod a cultu atq humanitate proviciae longissime absunt, minimeq ad eos saepe mercatores commeant, atq ea qua ad effeminados animos pertinent, imporiant, proximiq, sunt Germanis, qui trans Rhenum incolunt, quibuscum continentur bellum gerunt. Comm. I opm: is aanhef van De Bello Gallico van Caesar."
