CC-F-0087.T.jpg

A black-and-white etching of three vessels. In the center is a three-deck, first-rate, and 120-gun ship of the line visible from the stern. At the right is a corvette viewed facing the port side. At the left is a British 18-gun brig viewed facing the starboard side. There are minimal depictions of the context or setting. Thin, simple lines make up the waves of the water at the bottom of the hull. The text below the image border indicates the vessel type.

This print is illustration No. 1 from 'Six Engraved Outlines of Ships of War from a First-rate to a Cutter' (London: N. Pocock, 1815) by Nicholas Pocock.
