There is a two-masted ship and several single-masted ships in the background and a costal city whose architecture is dominated by low domes, flat roofs, and arches; behind it are mountains. Margins are marked off by lines of red ink. Text above the engraving reads "Jonah is delivered from the fish. Jonah: 1." Text below the engraving reads "Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fishes [see note] belly, v: 1: etc: And the LORD spake unto the fish and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land. vers: 10."
