A hand-colored folio map of the British Isles from a later edition of Jan Jansson's Atlas Novus. Rhumb lines are absent in some editions. The map is oriented with North pointing right, and it is based off of a map from Parergon by Abraham Ortelius. England and Wales are labeled Britannia Superior and further divided into Roman provinces. Scotland is labeled Britannia Inferior. Various sailing vessels and sea monsters dot the waters. An elaborate strapwork cartouche in the lower right corner of the map contains the title and publishing information and is flanked by two human figures.
