Uncolored engraving after a Tintoretto ceiling painting entitled Jonah Leaves the Whale's Belly (1577 or 78). The mouth of the whale is shown at left, and Jonah is rushing out of it, swathed in drapery and bearded; the whale spouts from two nostrils; at right, a man surrounded by light reaches out his hands to receive Jonah. In the lower margin is printed "No. 37. Il Profetta Giona che sorte dal ventre della balena."
