A starboard side view of the ship HMS 'Leander.' The ship was appointed to take the Royal commissioners to New York for the Exhibition of the Industry of all Nations in 1853. The exhibition was a World's Fair held in New York City in the wake of the highly successful 1851 Great Exhibition in London. The fair showcased new industrial achievements of the world and America's advancement. In the lower margin is the descriptive text and publication detail flanked by two insignias.
