Colored print depicting the signal flags used at Trafalgar by H.M.S. "Victory". The flags are depicted on flagpoles which form the spikes of a stylized ship's navigation wheel; at the centre is the text "Lord Nelson's Signal"; at the border is a ring of laurels. Between the laurel and the wheel is the text, "England expects that every man will do his D U T Y", with every word or letter over one flagpole. There is a blue bow at the base of the wheel. On verso is an advertisement for the Border Edition of Sir Walter Scott's Waverley Novels, which was published in the 1890s.
