A starboard-side view of the packet 'Yorkshire' in the Port of Liverpool. A large painted black ball below the close-reef band in her fore topsail and the black ball swallowtail flag identify her as part of Black Ball Line. The numerous masts on the shoreline of Liverpool in the background depict the many city's many shipyards. The 'Yorkshire' was the fastest sailing packet that served on the North Atlantic. During her career, especially under the famed Captain David G. Bailey, her westbound passages averaged 29 days, and her record shortest passage was 15 �_ days.

The lithograph was made after a painting by George Samuel Walters, which was after a design by Bailey, the captain of the packet.
