A map of the Duchy of Milan in Italy from the 1587 French edition of Theatrum Orbis Terrarum by Abraham Ortelius that was published in Antwerp in a print run of 250. The depicted regions includes the regions of Genoa, Milan, Parma, Cremona, Nice, and Monaco. In the center left is a strapwork cartouche with the title. Atop the cartouche is the map scale and calipers. A sea monster and sailing vessel are depicted in sea, which is marked with stippled dots. A coat of arms of the Duchy of Milan is in the top right corner. Faint lines in graphite form a grid and are visible in the left side of the map.

Descriptive text on verso (67r); last line, left aligned is transcribed: "tion fort plaisante , comme nous dirons en son lieu : & plusiers autres."
