A fleet of armed, Dutch herring boats patrol the area of Moerdijk, looking out for the French, in the Dutch Republic during the Campaign in the Low Countries during the first years of the French Revolutionary Wars. There are as many as twelve Dutch vessels, identifiable by their Dutch flag. A small boat carrying men is in the foreground. The descriptive text at the bottom margin is in Dutch. This print is perhaps from a book or other informative resource a the last line in the text states, "further explanation of the print could be found in the text." The letter "B" is inscribed at the top right corner of the print.
