Uncolored engraving depicting a whale head, a whale jawbone, and a ring of bone with several layers of sharp teeth pointing inward. With an elaborate border, stylized as a frame, with two Greek coins at the base of the frame, with a head in profile on one and a nude woman chained to a rock (perhaps Andromeda) with a lion-sea serpent chimera on the other. In the lower margin is printed "Ion. Cap II.v.1 Cetus Ionae" and, in blackletter, the translation thereof into German. From "Kupfer-Bibel, in welcher die Physica Sacra oder geheiligte Naturwissenschafft derer in der heiligen Schrifft vorkommenden nat�_rlichen Sachen" by Johann Jakob Scheuchzer.
