A study of the decorative head and stern of the British ship of the line 'Blenheim.' Three levels, of which two are balconies, make up the gallery. The tafferel and the lower frieze are decorated with mythological sea motifs such as sea horses, tritons, and sea nymphs. Carnival-esque and grotesque motifs decorate the transom above the rudder. In the illustration of the ship's head in profile, a king in armor is the figurehead of the ship.
