Bookplate of the eminent bibliophile Cardinal Mario Marefoschi (1714-1780) whose expansive library was sold off by his heirs in the late 1780s. Features a shield (including 2 whales) surmounted by a hat and surrounded by tassels. Under the shield is a banner with the name "MARIUS MAREFUSCHUS". Under the bookplate is handwritten in ink: "K. II. 90.", which refers to the original shelving location of the book in the Marefoschi library.
